I'm passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we all could use more calm in our lives. By following the simple advice I heard on a Dr. Phil's show, I have finally found that inner peace.
Dr. Phil proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started.
So I looked around my house to see which things I have started and hadn't finished; and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay , a bole of Bailees, a butle of Kehuha, a pockage of Tim Toms , tha wemainder of boks Prozic and Valum scriptins, the res of the Chesescke, sum leff ova pizza and a Baxa cholates.

Today....I'm revisiting the beginning. Going to bed early, and gonna shut the door. Tomorrow is red night after all!
(hmmmm I always did like Scarlett's last lines in Gone with the Wind). LOL
Marcus Aurelius: The inner citadel
(Posted 10/09/06)
"Begin each day", advises the Emperor, "by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill will and selfishness..." But our enemies, he reminds us, are part of the universe, part of the Whole. And the role of the wise man is to "accept without resentment whatever may befall.... to be serene, to be simple".
Lets face it. This blog has not been created yet. At this stage its not even a start but it is another place for me to learn and play, and see where we go from there.
I enjoy drinks with friends, dirty dancing, letting my hair down, making new friends, talking about the meaning of life!
I just posted a second quote from Marcus Aurelius on my blog today and this one was scheduled as the next one. One of my favourite paragraphs from the Meditations. Something to think about when you wake up and know what the day might bring.
I will never reach inner peace, I just threw out half a packet of Malteasers as they were making me sick. And I only ate half the pizza I had for dinner...
But agree on the Marcus Aurelius quote. It is rather good and I know some one I can pass that on to.
LOL AJ. Yep.. practice makes perfect AJ. Im trying ha (very trying.. ha ha)
What's more worrying is that - you guys don't have a problem actually understanding the last few lines of seeking "Inner Peace", posted there! So, if any further comments tonight, by either myself, or any you bloggers out there, vaguely resembles this...then we(s) all knows we(s) is just seeking inner peace is all! LOL Dee
OK. I took your advice and read your 'Inner Peace' post. I have managed to plow my way through half a packet of Tim Tams; but when I got to my liquor cabinet I thought I'd do cocktails instead of just drinking straight from the bottle whilst watching Little Britain like I usually do (being the classy girl that I am). Being in a bit of a Carrie Bradshaw mood, I thought cosmopolitans. But then I realised that I didn't have any lime juice and I only had white cranberry juice. So my cosmopolitan recipe consisted of the following:
Green cordial
Vanilla Vodka
Orange liquor (I typed orange liquor because I can't figure out how to spell contreao...contreuo...bah)
White Cranberry Juice
Ice
So in my quest to follow the Dr Phill endorsed 'Finish Everything You Start' doctrine I think I may have invented a new cocktail. Because it sure doesn't taste like a cosmo. I think I'll call it an: 'It's Not Easy Being Green'. I predict it's popularity shall soar, it shall be served in many the tres chic nightclub, and I shall be a squillionaire by the end of the month.
In other news, no more cold and flu tablets at happy hour. Does not a happy mixture make. Also, I should not be left unsupervised on a Saturday night.
Rinny is not to be left sitting quietly in the corner to her own devices. If I find you under the bed next to Snowy, I'll gently drag you out, prop you up and put you in a sitting position back on the couch (again!).... besides, that's my regular spot under there; I have enough trouble fighting Snowy for it.
Geeesss (big smiles)...You certainly are a natural born writer Rinny! Thanks for the comment, AND, the recipe. I don't doubt the squillions to be made from it. Sounds like a formula to success, at least - a great party!
Have posted you a little 'deep & meaningful' (here's another box of tissues) to keep you occupied for the moment under "Bloggers Tribute Page (2)". Stay put. I'll be back to check on you in a moment. Just selecting some more music more fitting to our PJ's and bunny slippers.
If you're up to a little 'mad' party, come with me down to the main room. (Smiles) Dee
