I usually do not reply to "anonymous" so I would invite said contributor to be a little up front about his entry.

Just in case my readers are in any doubt, I do not carry any flame for Kev and his mob. They are just a little, not a lot, better than the alternative. And let's face it, the alternative doesn't know if it's arthur or Martha, or should I say, Brendan or Malcolm... or even Peter. But then, according to John Hewson, Costello hasn't got the balls to step up to the plate.

This week, the Opposition are going to attack the government over their economic performance, if, presumably, they can resist the temptation to undermine each other. Fascinating really, when they came in 1996, we heard ad infinitum about Labor's $96b of debt. Now, apparently, as soon as government changes, the government is 100% responsible.

George W is going a bit spare over the Russian actions in Georgia. He is demanding that the Russians withdraw from the American ally post haste, or even sooner. Those of us old, or should that be ancient enough to remember, are wondering why the Americans are not taking the same attitude now as America did in 1962, during the Cuban missile crisis. But then Uncle George is a politician so why should we expect consistancy?

Create Her

There are many ideas on how she was created, some think that she was just always, there, others like to believe that she was born like the rest of us mortals. Both are wrong and just insulting, she was created by the light. At the beginning of time, when neither light nor dark existed, she did not either. But as the universe eploded and the first glimpse was seen, she sprouted from all that was good. Over the years she's been finding it hard to keep that, with all the smog of industry and lies, she can't be as pure as she once was. Can we fix that? Can we save our lady from becoming decrepit like the rest of us? Maybe, but first we must come together, stop the fight and pain, and just be good. Give to others, don't be selfish, love like no-one's around and just be good without any of the evil. Save our queen, because she's the earth, and we sorta need her :) (A message from the crazy brain of personality four)

The first plank

It is rather delicious that we have finally got rid of that mob of hacks, who clattered up the government benches for so long. They had a reputation as a good government. They were so ethical they won an election on the back of a nonsense called "children overboard." Under their watch, $300m was siphoned off to Saddam Hussein. They said they did not know about the diversion, though I think it's true people in ministerial offices were warned this may be happening. Conveniently, they did not tell their bosses. So much for ministerial responsibility. Still, people believed these hacks were a good government.  When I studied politics, we were told that if people in the minister's office knew something, it was assumed the minister knew. Not with these hacks.  

Now, we have Kevin 07 and his mob. And what is even more entertaining, Nelson and his mob are putting on a three ring circus for the amusement of the population. Go for it girls and boys. It will be interesting to see how the Kevin07 show develops. Who will the stars be and who will be the first major casualty? It is unusual to see so many goverrnment promises actually being honoured. There was previously core and non core.

Still, the gloss is becoming somewhat dull on Kev's mob. However, it is rather amusing to see the Nelson circus saying that the government is responsible for all the bad things happening currently. How long did the previous mob live off the alleged sins of the Hawke/Keating government? Amazing how the point of view you take seems to depend on where you sit in parliament.
